Undergraduate Perspective on Campus Climate Brown Bag Presentation

Krista Soria from the Office of Institutional Research is hosting a brown bag presentation related to undergraduates' perception of campus climate at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. The data used for the presentation are drawn from the SERU survey, which was administered last spring to all eligible students at the U.

The purpose of the presentation is to highlight the results of the survey, including results from a module in which we asked students a number of questions about the importance of diversity on campus, the frequency with which they have heard campus stakeholders express negative and stereotypical views about others from diverse backgrounds, and whether they feel supported on campus with regards to their social identity. Data will be compared to 2010 SERU survey data to provide a longitudinal perspective of campus climate over the last five years.

The brown bag presentation will be held on Friday, January 29, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Nicholson 35. You are most welcome to bring your lunch!

First-Year Students' Thriving Brown Bag Presentation

On Friday, January 15th, 2016,  Krista Soria will be hosting a brown bag presentation related to first-year students' sense of thriving at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. The data used for the presentation are drawn from the Thriving Quotient survey, which was administered last December-January to all incoming first-year students at the U.

This presentation will highlight the results of the survey, including which first-year students are thriving (or barely surviving), what institutional activities can enhance students' sense of thriving and related outcomes, what factors seem to impede students' ability to thrive, and why thriving matters to our campus community. The information shared in the presentation may be helpful to advisers, staff, administrators, or others seeking to understand more about first-year students' thriving at the U.

The brown bag presentation will be held on Friday, January 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Nicholson 35. You are most welcome to bring your lunch!
